Cold, fake and isolated from reality by it's own bubble?

(the following didn't fit in the title box: "and is enveloped by a storm with the turn of a hand" )

What the new name for the opensource viewer project is really supposed to mean?

I think it means Philip wants us to murmur "rosebud" instead of other choice words when it crashes. Gotta keep it clean with adult off by default and all.

Well, I want to know why they are releasing a Roman Catholic viewer.
What about the other religions??

But... what does it do? I don't understand the value of this thing.

the new name kinda only reminds me of negative concepts, I'm trying to see if there are more positive interpretations that would make me feel better about it or if I'm not the only one that feel this might not have been the best choice for the name

I can't even find any mention of this on the official site.

Yeah, that was done before it had a name.

I don't see a snowglobe as a negative thing. It's a self-contained little environment that people look into and can interact with, to a degree. There's a kind of magic to it, and the scene can be anything (not just a cabin in a snowstorn or what-have-you).*

If your monitor were shaped like a bubble, and you were looking in at your avatar doing something within SL, wouldn't that resemble a snowglobe? Lighten up :-D Snowglobes are fun.

* And the "globe" part is not always a globe.
