I am looking to purchase a new laptop. I have seen 1 with nvidia g force 8400 which should be ok for sl. However I have also seen a cheaper 1 with nvidia g force 7000. Will I still be ok to use sl on this or should i go for the more expensive model?

As a general rule of thumb always get the best you can afford with laptops as they are not easy to upgrade - especially where graphics are concerned
I recently bought the Sony Sony Vaio FZ31Z T8300 2.4Ghz 4GB Notebook PC which has the GeForce 8600M and it runs like a dream on Vista I have all the graphics up to full with 256m draw distance and 4x antialiasing with no noticable depreciation in speed. I would never try gaming with it. |
