Ok, so I purchased an AO, was working with it, detached it, and ultimately lost it. As frustrating as that was, I was very pleased to find that it was returned to my Lost and Found the next day. So, I was working with it again, and I crashed. :( When I logged back in, the AO was gone from my inventory. I had all the info regarding it, but the AO itself was gone. It's been a couple of days, and it's not returned to my inventory. :(

Is there any way to get it back? Or do I just need to buy another one?

And are there any tips to keep this from happening again? This could get expensive.... ;)

Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks, guys!! :)

Buy one that's copyable and only use copyable animations in it as well. Keep an extra in inventory and you'll be able to rez a fresh version if the one you were using somehow gets lost.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Hi Lainey, welcome to the forums! When you crashed, did you have it rezzed inworld (as opposed to having it attached to you)? If you had it rezzed on land that you own or where you build with the group-owned tag on, it's probably still where you rezzed it! But, very very tiny ... you can see it much easier if you turn on Show Tranparencies on the View menu. Remember also that, due to Level-of-Detail restrictions, your avatar actually has to be fairly close to small objects in order for your camera to see them.

If you rezzed your AO in a sandbox or other place where you don't have a right to leave things permanently, it should have been returned to your Lost and Found folder when the land auto-return.

And, if you didn't have it rezzed at all but simply had it attached, it should still be in your inventory!

under inventory search type in (worn ....now if you are wearing it someplace it will show up highlighted white some not so bright builders and designes will put a (worn on X) to let you know where it goes but if your not accually wearing that item it's color will be a duller white

if it does not show up there your not wearing it

if it does then figue out where it's attached if it's a hud it might be off screan so you can't see it yet it's still there

It was rezzed in world... I think. I had just detached it, and that's when I crashed. So I will definitely try Show Transparencies...and make sure I have copyable items.

Thanks all for your help! :)

Ah ... just a little more info. If you "detach" an AO, it just goes back into your inventory, it doesn't rez inworld. You should be able to find it by typing a few letters of its name into the top of your inventory window. However, if you "drop" an attachment, it does indeed rez inworld, usually on the ground near you.

You have to rez AO's in order to add/remove animations. However, if you weren't doing that, and all you did was detach it, it should still be in your inventory.

If you still do not find it in inventory, log out and clear cache by physically deleting the file. For some reason, some inventory glitches fix themselves after a full cache clearing.
