This is the answer from the support: To determine which Trading Tier an account is in we use the Billing Age, not the actual age, of the account. This means we count the time from when you make your first trading transaction with Linden Lab, not from when you initially created the account.

But what's the 'trading transaction' ? Buy other's product, selling L$ to US$, buying L$ from US$ or ... ?

buying L's in the lindex is how you initiate your status so that the clock starts ticking

you can not sell lindens until you actually buy some

have a look at the limits information, it is very informative

I think if you use your billing information to put like 25 US on your account that might (not sure) trigger the timer, best to just buy some lindens even 1000 just to get the timer started

(that is like approx 4 dollars US)

The very first time I tried to buy Lindens the max $10 US I was allowed I had problems with blocked transactions, I made one phone call to sort the issue out and during the conversation the Linden dealing with me increase my limit to $2,500 US, so my billing age was nil actually.

I think it's mostly just another anti-fraud measure, to stop you cashing out a ton of fraudulent cash before they can close your account. My limit is quite high and I mostly cash out lindens, only bought like $10 worth to buy some land.

Any billing transaction will start the timer... specifically, a transaction where LL successfully bills your credit card or paypal account (whatever your billing method is).

Assuming you don't have a US$ balance to draw from (which you shouldn't, not being to sell on the Lindex and all), you can cause a billing transaction by:
- buying lindens on the Lindex
- paying for a premium membership
- using "Increase your credit" to add money to your balance

Although all methods are equally effective, we usually recommend buying lindens because it's the cheapest thing to do. I think you can even buy just $1 worth.

Paying for a premium account at the time of account creation does NOT trigger the timer. Found that out the hard way with a dear friend.

She had to increase her credit 25$US AND buy 10$US in L$ to trigger it.

This sounds wrong.

Both my alts were made premium at the time of creation, and that triggered the timer in both their cases.

Also strange... If the person HAD been at "0 days", they would have had a $25 purchase limit, so they wouldn't have been able to buy the lindens after doing a $25 credit increase. (We actually get asked about that here a lot... people want to do a limit buy, so they do a credit increase and then try to buy lindens, but find they are blocked for two days until their purchase limit goes up.)

Sounds like SL was being glitchy. (What?! )

You can also apply for a higher limit, if applicable to your needs.

Ava on Day 1 or 2 its supposed to go up since you are in that next wait time. Everything still said 0 until she made the 25 buck depo. Maybe it was a glitch but if it can happen once it can again.
