Hello!
I face the following problem and would appreciate any help:
My new neighbor has placed his building so close to my parcel that his wall actually gets through my wall and its surface is visible from my place. In addition, he has rezzed an 1-prim object (a semi-transparent "litter" texture) so close that it literally enters my room.
I sent him a notice but he seems rather unresponsive - he did not even answer me. I decided to "return" his objects, but strangely enough they are not detected as such in my "About land" window.
Any ideas?

Hi Izumi; first, what kind of sim are you on? Mainland or estate? If estate, check the covenant see if it says anything about this issue. My covenant specifies that a person has to keep builds within 2 meters inside their landlines so as not to encroach on the neighbor. If you can't return the items, then they are not on your land but only appear so. I noticed that too when I had a really, really low prim house once, that items seemed to be coming through the walls, but really were not. It drove me nuts and I finally got a house that didn't have that issue. If you are on an estate, and the neighbor is unresponsive, speak to the estate manager or owner, if there's nothing in the covenant to prohibit what the neighbor is doing. Maybe they don't speak english and didn't understand your IM? If it's mainland, I don't know, someone else will have to respond to that.....good luck.

Try contacting him again and give him a time limit on responding and if he didn't do anything, then I would AR him for encroachment of objects and textures.

Thanks for the rersponses.
My parcel is in mainland.
It may sound strange to some, but I would prefer to avoid to report him - except, of course, there is no other solution.

Give them time to respond -- try IM and Notecard. If they do not respond, you can either:

1) live with it

2) move your house elsewhere on your land, even into the sky

3) move to different land

4) AR the person

P.S. Even if a portion of an item is sticking over the line onto your land, if the root prim is still on his land, you won't be able to see it in your About Land nor could you return it by simply right clicking on it to get the pie menu.

I cannot understand how one is able to rez anything on another person's land - it sounds strange!
Anyway, as far as understand, this is a tricky problem!
Thanks again for the help

No, she's saying that the root of the object is rezzed on their land, not yours, even if it's sticking over onto yours. It won't show in about land, as being on your land, if the root of it is on their land. So they didn't rez it on your land, it's just sticking over there.

Also- once u decide that u can or should report him via AR- don't fret. It's not like he will have a bad record or anything. It just means LL will see to it that the situation is rectified. You won't cause him permanet harm or such - I do agree on the give him a time limit to correct the infringment.
