Verifying an account with incorrect info?

I have payment info on file already, but I am still unsure if that is good enough for verification for the coming changes? What I am really asking about, is I know someone who has used the same account for years, but when they registered it, they didn't use their accurate information because it wasn't meant as their main avatar. Since that time they have amassed a considerable inventory, numbering in the tens of thousands, consisting of many no transfer items. With the impending need to verify to have access to any mature rated areas, I am asking on their behalf if there is some way they can verify this account now, which was initially registered with incorrect information. They insist that even if they entered in correct age verification or payment info, since it doesn't match their initial registration information, which they cannot view or change, that it is impossible for them to verify their account. So the issue simplifies to these 2 questions:
1) Is having payment info on file sufficient age verification, or must the age verification process be gone through as well to continue to access mature areas?
2) Can an account with incorrect information, be edited with valid payment info or age verification information, that doesn't match the initial registration information?

It's been said (By a Linden or two or three) that payment info on file will act as an automatic verification, or something similar.

Yes.

Thank you for your answers. They entered in accurate verification information and got a successful verification message. They said they had tried doing that in the past but it would never work, so either they're mistaken about what they did or something about the system changed.

according to LL age verification does not provide them with anything other than a yes or no answer from the contracted company (unless you do it the hard way and mail physical copies of stuff to LL)... so that means the only info LL has is what you give them for payment info... and that can be changed.

The hard way is not that hard, they accept scans of your documents through email.
