Hair looks weird in WindLight

I installed WindLight thinking I could go back to the regular SL viewer if I didn't like it (meaning that they would both be on my computer). I didn't realize that WindLight overwrote it. Now all my settings are fubar, of course. The one thing that puzzles me is how my hair appears in WindLight. I have a longer straight style of black hair. In WindLight, it's semi-transparent, so that you can see the outlines of the shoulders and skull beneath it. I find this freaky. I wondered if anyone knew anything about this. TY.

What you're seeing is called the alpha blending problem. It happened before Windlight as well, but not nearly as much. What exactly Windlight is doing wrong is a matter of speculation but it's apparently not going to get fixed whatever it is. Other people are seeing you with the funky transparent hair, so I suspect you're better off getting a new windlight-friendly 'do.

TY for the explanation. I had thought of that too, that even if I went back to the old viewer, other WindLight users would be seeing the transparent hair. Naturally this would be my absolute favorite hair. *sigh*

Yeh. When Windlight came out a bunch of us with high-prim avatars that looked like the "Michelin Man" in Windlight complained, and were promptly told "you don't have to use it" by people who simply didn't get the point at all.
