I just installed Snowglobe 1.0.3 and have been trying to find the release notes to see what has changed. I seem to be utterly failing though. Does anyone have a link to the 1.0.3 Release Notes?

There's already a Snowglobe 1.1.0(2490) out, for what that might be worth to know.

There's an url

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Snowglobe_Release/1.0

Did you try the Release Notes link in the Help About Second Life dialog?

For the version 1.1.0 I have the release notes link leads to an empty page.

I'm confused now.

I tried the Release Notes under Help and also googled "snowglobe release notes" and both take me to the Snowglobe 1.0 notes and don't show any of the changes made with this version.

I did see that an even newer version was available but wanted to read the release notes for that as well before installing. Has your experience been good with it so far?

Snowglobe 1.0.3 and Snowglobe 1.1 updates
https://lists.secondlife.com/pipermail/sldev/2009-July/014815.html

It has the viewer half of the SVC-4444 fix, one for a Windows crash in curl, and one for a crash in the APR wrapper.

(I believe there is a 1.23.5 main viewer coming for the SVC-4444 thing too, in addition to the 1.27.1 server-side patch.)

Thanks for the links, Victoria.

I read a fair bit of the discussion at https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SNOW-103 . It's interesting to read this sort of thing and contrast this sort of thinking with comments in which people complain about how bad SL and act like it's flaws stem from being written by people who are lazy, stupid, don't care, etc. Put all the code and other things and processes needed to make SL work all together and just think about how much detailed, concerned thought goes into it.

Thanks Viktoria and Suzanne. That jira you posted was a great read. I think I'm going to go ahead and give 1.1 a try. I just noticed it's actually Alpha, this should be fun lol.

I just got that latest version, Snowglobe 1.1.0 (2547), and it crashed immediately on first launch, and on the second launch, I'm seeing what appears to be an alpha texture anomaly I don't recall seeing for ages. A part of a building with windows in it is appearing in front of a tree. The tree is way in front of the building. These are prim trees, not Linden trees, and the trees have transparency in them.

Now I've focused on the building and zoomed in, and then returned by camera to my position on the opposite side of the tree from the house, where my avatar is, and the tree now obscures the house like it ought to. Odd.

The previous version that I mentioned above didn't give me any particular problem that I recall.
