Might be hair on the mesh. Try puttign a 'bald' on or editting the hair away in preferences.

Also, some skin has hair painted on it and a bald cap will not take care of that. If that is the case, then only changing skin will fix it.

In your Inventory search field (that white text field at the top of the Inventory) type in the word WORN.

This will show you everything that you are wearing and have attached to you. Right click on the offending item in your Inventory and select "detach".

Or it's on the skin like the others suggested. Try wearing a different skin to check this.

you might have taken off your 'bald' that goes on under prim hair

Yep, wear a bald cap. If you are wearing 'system hair' i.e. hair that was made in appearance edit mode - it will not show up as 'worn' in inventory.

Bald caps will also change the position of your eyebrows, so try different ones. But at least your pate will be clean.

can't take off the bald cap, but one can replace it, or change the texture and suddenly have hair

I would try replacing with a new bald hair base (just type bald in your inventory, if you have one it will find it) then if that doesn't work, the only other option is (as mentioned) it is painted on the skin

(if the hair has any length and "style" then it is not painted on, painted on will look like it is painted on, if it looks like hair with 3d ness to it, then it is most likely system hair)

A pic would have helped tremendously

actually hair bases will show up in the inventory when searching for worn, as long as it is being used of course (it is called hair, people rename them to bald when used as bald base) has the little wig icon next to it.

(when creating a hair base, it is called New Hair when you make it from scratch) and will show worn when it is being used

I hope this will be a useful tip regarding bald bases/ caps.

Do a round of the hair stores and freebie stores that give away hair. Look for ones that include a bald cap and buy those (even if you hate the hair - you can delete hair once you have it). It seems each hair designer uses a different type of eyebrow shape in their bald base. I have used various different bald caps during the course of a day. With each one giving a different eyebrow shape it was nice to be able to mix and match eyebrows, changing the highly arched "over-the-spectacles" clerical look that goes well with tailored, structured garments and looks, for a softer curve to go with more diaphanous garments or casual outfits.

It's good to have different eyebrows. You can make different eyebrows yourself. In appearance mode, choose "hair" and then "eyebrows". It can make really big differences in how you look. No need to buy hair you hate for that, when you make your own eyebrows. ;)
Just choose "save as" and name them what you find right, like "angry look". I think most bald caps are copy, so you can make lots of them. Demos are often coming with bald caps too.
MiaSnow Myriam had a set of 3 premade eyebrows set out in her shop. Free or cheap... can't recall. You can look up her shop under her picks and take a look. It was happy, sad and angry, I think. She has great skins for both male and female, human and fantasy skins.

if you do not have a bald cap it is really easy to make one, just right click on any folder in your inventory and choose new body part new hair

then name it whatever you want

wear it (double click is a quick easy way to put it on)

then in appearance just add the totally clear texture to it (there should be one in the library folder)

then you can adjust eyebrow and such however you want, and it is allll yours :)
