Strange Particle Question

Beginning last night, periodically particles in a quasi-triangular shape began sweeping up from the ground over my body. It began when I tp'd in for a class that then had a "beam type" teleporter to go to the classroom.

I thought initially it was the teleporter beams I was seeing. I turned of particles in my viewer and didn't see them for the rest of the evening.

Today I am seeing the same thing at home. I took off all items I was wearing to see if it was some script embedded. The only new thing I had on was a necklace gifted to me. I took that off as well. Thus far the particles are continuing periodically and especially if I click on a prim attachment I am wearing. The colors change from red-green-blue.

Anyone ever encounter this and/or ideas to stop it? Thanks in advance for any help! (Starting to feel a bit "haunted." lol)

There is a setting about View updates... check in the View drop down- not in-world to check it now.

in the advanced menu uncheck the "show updates" line.

Try a "scrubber script" there are some in the scripts section of the forum. They remove stuck particles...

Just returned from yet another class and saw some of this floating up from other avatars as well.

Also let me add, I use the 1.8 something viewer with the Nicholaz overview so generally don't have new issues.

@Amar - Looking on the View menu but not sure what to check or uncheck. Just tried Reset View but that didn't work.

@Zen - In my viewer it's still called Client, but show updates is checked.

@Ian - That's what I originally thought, which is why I took off everything: clothes, attachments, jewelry...everything. The only thing left to scrub would be my avatar and don't think that's possible...errr is it?

Brenda - you there? Have you been seeing anything like this, since I know we use similar viewers.

Woot! Thanks, Nika, that worked! I recall trying to click on something yesterday and my finger slipped and apparently clicked on something else (that) and the window closed so I figured it wasn't anything important.

Guess it was.

So, if anyone *wants* particles coming up around them...ya know what to do...lol!
