What are your SL-based New Year resolutions?

Happy New Year to those already into '09 :)

Stop smoking, lose weight, join a gym... bleh. Those are the RL resolutions we make (and then usually forget by February). But do you have any SL-based New Year resolutions for 2009?

For me, it's going to be delving into scripting so that instead of just tinkering around with existing scripts and seeing what happens when I change *that* to *this*, I actually understand what's going on.

What are your SL-based New Year resolutions?

I resolve to spend somewhat less time "working" in SL, and more time socializing and doing roleplay with my friends. (This last year, most of my in-world time was consumed with a massive building project for a client).

I resolve to spend at least a little time each month just "exploring", and seeing what is in sims I haven't visited before.

I resolve to learn how to use the several new applications that I purchased over the past year, hoping to use them for SL content creation, but which I didn't have time to learn to use, because I was too busy building...

I resolve to learn more about making Sculpties, and to learn how to make my own animations for SL.

None. I have enough problems with RL (never do your annual physical on Dec 30th. I had my last ice cream for a long while yesterday, my last fries today and my last beer tomorrow - going about ten miles to get the best fries in the area if it is going to be my last, and the beer will be a Piraat triple). Well, I promise not to take over SL (what would I do with it?), take over LL (see problem with taking over SL), or start a "I'm quitting SL" thread. I also promise to not promise to stop hijacking threads, as I have no intent to keep that one. Although I am usually a passenger of the hijacking...

To socialize less, and create more.

To buy less, and create more.

To master Vegas and SculptyPaint.

To become an actor, rather than an observer.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I have some ideas of things I'd like to find in SL, such as a deeper level of communicating about things I've never had the chance to discuss, such as philosophy or discussions about the Silent Film era which I am very "into" right now. So, I guess I'd like to find some discussion groups.

Oh yes and Happy New Year!

I resolve to get into more pointless SL forum debates! (See, a resolution I can actually keep!)

1. Not to be as reclusive as I have been lately. I need to get back to the Hangout and reconnect with friends again :o

2. Find a new house. Love the one I have, but it's been with me since I purchased my first land and I've finally grown tired of it. I have a lot of land, so I can afford to go a bit crazy on the prim count and get something which suits me better.

3. Maybe, just maybe get into clothing design. Been thinking of this. We shall see. I'm inherently lazy and need a much better computer to accomplish this so purchasing a new PC would be a primary goal before I can manage to even begin seriously considering this. However, I do have the bug in me to do this. It would be kind of ironic since in RL I dress very low-key but I have interests in fashion regardless.

To finally slog through the entire Blender manual and learn it, for real.

To create more and freshen up the face of the shop.

To get out more and meet people.

In short, to actually spend more time in SL. This last year has been spent mainly on the Forums. Hopefully all the stuff that has been keeping me away will have reduced a bit.

Love to all! :)

I usually don't make resolutions, I really am not big on the whole New Year start new thing. I don't see the day as a end or start of anything, merely a continuation. But if I were, I would probably say that I procrastinate too much, I always leave things for the last minute, I waited till today to take my car for inspection for example. So i would like to do better in that regard. And also to spend more time out and about doing stuff. I spent a frightful amount of time in the past year sitting on my ever expanding ass *looks ts her post count* especially staring at this LCD, and really want to do change that.

As far as SL, nothing different than my current philosophy. Don't get too wrapped up in it, only log on when I have the time and desire, don't drop something else to go inworld and if I am not enjoying it for whatever reason, log off.

I want to redesign my store. I have things on xstreet and onrez that aren't sold in-world. I'd like to make more clothes.

My SL resolution for 2009 is to stop doing Hunts. I spend wayyy too much time hunting for things I don't actually need and then never getting around to even opening most of items. My inventory has gotten completely out of control, so I resolve to clean it out.... eventually.

I resolve to never again make a New Year's resolution...

Oh, damn! Blew it again!

Hunts are evil, indeed. I got 22 falln items this xmas hunt, and but for one (smoulding Christmas tree), threw them all out. The best Solange freebie xmas stuff was on the wall, and the gunslinger boots. And those boots cost me 450L to buy a non-seasonal version.

*shakes fist at hunts*

My SL New Years resolution is to not make New Years resolutions... crap... broke that one already.

I guess I've never been big on making resolutions that I don't have a snowflake's chance in a frying pan of keeping.
