I have lucky chairs and I need to let people know they're out there. I've put it in my fashcon notice, I have the XO hud and listener, and I've put it in my groups. What else can I do?
Thanks in advance.

You could mention them in your property description so that they show up in search...

There are lucky chair groups that you can join. I'm not sure what the protocol is for a store owner to mention their lucky chair in there. I'd say join them with an alt and check out the rules for the group. I say use an alt cause it can get spammy.

to the OP - i have 2 of them out, also. i recently created a situation where i have a model showing my creations on different days, and so i can occasionally spy on the local chat from the chairs. NO ONE uses them at my place either, and i get a lot of traffic. i've had only one winner in 2 weeks. mine gives original content creations AND cash. it's good stuff, not crap so i would like to see someone actually use something i invested in or i'm giong to dump them.
looking forward to more replies. _____________________

Well over a year ago I used to go lucky chair hunting and had fun doing it. (That was before my inventory was bursting, and I'm still organizing my 16k item inventory.) For a very short time I'd joined a lucky chair group which was fairly active too.
Now as a new store owner, I tried putting a lucky chair in my store.... nobody was using it. Temporarily joined two big lucky chair groups... very very little activity in either of the groups. Posted in one of the groups when there was a *wildcard* in the chair (meaning any letter would work)... nobody TP'd in! My conclusion.... which may not be correct but just a feeling.... is that people aren't really using lucky chairs much anymore.... instead they go "freebie" hunting and there are tons of freebies, now many fairly decent quality, simply given away outright. _____________________

I have 2 lucky chairs in my store also, and they get a lot of work! I'd suggest you contact Popfuzz Bamboo and get a little box that sits by your chairs and sends the letter and content info to her lucky chair display place. That will certainly up the number of visits to your chairs, and probably will lead to an increase in sales and update group membership too.

I think Lucky chairs are a great idea, and personally love them.
Some chairs have a constant stream of traffic. Why? Because they have superb items in them that many people want (Think Crimson Shadow, Silent Sparrow, to name a couple of well patronised chairs). And they get great write ups in the freebie and/or fashion blogs. So think about what you are offering, is it something that a lot of people will want? And then do some legwork and contact the blogs, and get review copies out there. Good freebie blogs to contact are Free*Style, and Fabulously Free in SL. There are others too, just don't have the names of those at hand. Oh, and a lot of the quality chair hunters out there avoid chair groups, and the HUDs because they get choked with spam, and people trying to flog their stolen goods. Best of luck! |

my lucky chairs have a pretty good usage rate but i also added one of those game boards alongside them..the type you have to find the matching picture of the prize? People really seem to love those, maybe its the fact its a *game*...i dont know...dammed popular though.

Faithless, what's the creator of the game board? that sounds fun to just 'have' around and maybe i'll go buy one.
