I'm sure there are loads of clubs in SL, but are there any that are regarded as particularly good? Good music, good atmosphere, not too much lag:) Any recommendations would be appreciated:)

Hi Lizette,

Welcome to the forums! :)

I haven't been out dancing in quite awhile, but here is a recent thread on the topic, maybe it will help:

Hope that helps. Is there a particular kind of music you are looking for?

June, good clubs for UK time are:

Crown & Pearl
Blackhearts
Taffs Bar

These are all regular haunts of mine and are busy at Euro friendly times.

Depends on what you want. Blue Fusion is a nice place. Music is standards and smooth jazz, always some people around, nice atmosphere, ballroom dancing, generally more mature crowd, and little lag except during some of the bigger live events.

To this day, my favorite club is the Elbow Room.
Why?
Simple, it's very very small (Hence the name), Only a bit over Ten Meters square i think, But there is dance, and contests, and even when it's crowded, it's got a lot of Fun Chat, and friendly people. No Flashing lights, No Vertigo inducing Flowing Dance floor pattern, Just Good Music, and Good people.

It's a simple idea, But Often, the Simplest ideas are the best.

For Jazz:
Frank's Place. Can get crowded. Beautiful place.
Bogarts. An established standard. Busier during American prime times but still popular any time.
Intimate Moments (a.k.a. Dolce Vita). More Easy Listening than Jazz. A little more casual. Established European community as well as American.
My Blue Heaven. Not as popular. Smaller with 3 levels of dance floors. The place is an explosion of cute and romantic. Can be a little laggy at times due to scripted swans, lights, bubbles, unicorn and what not. (I did mention an explosion of cuteness, right?)
Sphynx. Another standard. Not as busy as it once was, but still a nice place to go with a date. Open air with an Egyptian themed decor. Low lag.
Phat Cat's. Large and very popular.

Most of these place can get packed at times, but once it all resses in, there is little to no lag.

Western:
I have only been to Coyote Country Saloon and Black Horse Country. Not my style, but they were nice places.

Rock:
Unfortuantly, good metal rock clubs are hediously laggy. Overdose and Sanctuary Rock are my favorites. Sanctuary Rock is always busy. Always. 24/7
Bublegum Music factory for 70's and 80's mainstream, but it is hit and miss finding people there.
In the evenings SL time, The Dragon's Roost on Furry Vermin Isle is great for classic rock, alternative and just plan cool tunes. Furry place but humans are welcome. Seldom crowded. Nice place to go and meet new people/fursons.

Trance/Rave/Dance mix:
I avoid these laces at all cost. Not my style. If I want to hear a constant driving beat, I much prefer tribal drums over the pre-packaged desposible mecanical techno-pop any day. YMMV
