Is it possible to send an IM to someone in-world through email without first recieving email notification of a message from them?
o.o
I notice the 'email' they come from seems to be what was randomly assigned to them.. so is there any way to do this?

From: Okiphia Rayna Is it possible to send an IM to someone in-world through email without first recieving email notification of a message from them? No, although that's a good thing or we'd all be logging on to spam IMs all the time . There are some scripted objects that try to accomplish the same thing, but all the recipient gets is a green scripted message, nothing as obvious as a real IM. From: someone I notice the 'email' they come from seems to be what was randomly assigned to them.. so is there any way to do this? If you send an IM to an off-line resident, SL creates an email-to-IM session id (the gibberish at the front) that you can use to reply to the IM from email, but that address expires after 5 days (so you can't really put them in your address book). But again, if it didn't expire spam bots would just pick up the addies and we'd all be bombarded with email spam in-world.

There seems to be www.zonkster.com as well (never used it though, only found it looking through past posts for scripted suggestions people made).

Yes you can send a message using this website. zonkster.com The message is delivered in green text, not the usual IM window. You have to get your personal "It really is me" code assigned in SL before you can use this. "you can get your "it really is me" code by tp-ing to Chuginadak 229, 247, 34 and touching the zOnkster communicator. (obviously, you'll want to do this some time when you are logged on)."
