Lap Timer Needed

Now that everyone's reading the forum because SL's down I thought I'd grap the opportunity to ask a question.

Anyone know where I can get lap timer..or even a script to build my own. I've tried SLX and though there's a few basic timers..event timers (countdown)..clocks and the like, there seems to be nothing that will accurately record or announce the time of a vehicle completeing a track lap.

I've seen them used in various places so someone out there must have built one..any ideas folks ?

Thanks..Perre :)

Hi Perre! The race track my friend has on his island has a lap timer. I believe it is built into the race track itself. I know I've provided the SLX link in one of your past threads about race tracks, so I'll go see if I can find it.

(It suddenly occurs to me that I seem to be collecting in-world friends with race tracks on private islands... which would make a LOT more sense if I ever got over 5 FPS!)

Maker is Sarg Bjornson. Here is his SLX link:

http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&MerchantID=5148

(If that link doesn't work, just search the market place on his name.)

The downside is that he doesn't appear to sell them separately, but only with the tracks which are pretty darn expensive. Perhaps you could talk to Sarg to see if he'd be willing to sell you the lap timer separately?

Hi Ava, yes this is one I'd seen in SLX..as you say..pricey, and there's no guarantee the timer could be extracted and used separately. I'll drop over there and take a look at it. I've seen one at the Mooz track which may be the same..it's available in a kit also..even more expensive (though I was thinking of buying it for the next track at 500m). If they are the same it would suggest the timer is available elsewhere. I suspect the easiest answer is to approach the track owners.

Thanks Perre :)

And I thought this thread was going to be about lap dances and meeting club quotas! :D
