I am trying to find a group director to get island access, but I cannot find out if any of them are online. In the group list it says "Last Login: unknown" for everyone, and for each of the member profiles it says "Online: Unknown" Is this a bug, or is this intentional? If this is being intentionally hidden, why does it even attempt to show this information to me, or not just straight out list the info as "Hidden"? If it is being hidden, it's really stupid that it's hidden, since an IM to each person on the list would immediately reveal if they are online or not anyway. BUT I don't want to mass-spam them, because I don't want to be instantly pissing off the people whose group I am trying to join.  |

I believe the Profile page will only show online status if you possess that persons friends card, to preserve thier privacy. However, you are correct that you can do a search on that person and it will say if they are on line or not.

I've had all kinds of presence issues lately. People I'm talking to constantly show up as offline when I profile them. It's ridiculous. Lindens, you know I'm not normally one to bitch, but come on, it can't be that difficult for the system to do a simple yes/no check, can it?

Generally when you click on an object to get a profile or click on a name in a group list, their online status will show as "unknown". But if open up your search menu and copy the person's name into it, their actual online status will show on the search page profile.
