I bought some clothes as a gift, but they appear to be non-transferable.
Okay, so how do you buy those clothes as a gift?

Did the vendor say it was transferable or had a special option to buy the item as a gift?

Non-transferable items, as you have learned, can't be purchased in the normal way and given as gifts. You have several options: * If the creator sells the item on XStreetSL, you can use by it there and select the option to deliver the item to another avatar. (XStreetSL is a SL e-commerce website recently taken over by LL.) * If the shop includes "buy this item as a gift" vendors, you can use those; some give you a transferable version of the item, and others deliver the item for you to the avatar you specify. * Contact the creator of the item and ask them if they have a gift mechanism or can deliver the gift for you. Please ask nicely.
