Here's what... switching from Gecko to Webkit just got easier: "We applaud Nokia's move to simplify the licensing of Qt,” said Joe Miller, vice president, Platform & Technology Development, Linden Labs. “We find Qt to be intriguing and innovative technology regardless of licensing, but the new licensing has greatly simplified our decision to pursue QtWebkit for integration into Second Life." _____________________

because it's changed license, so does the oppertunity to spread the tool/lib/widget along the already opened viewer (and future server).
LindenLab want's to opensource everything, in the end... but now they on some parts cannot, because of licensing restrictions. |
