Can anyone tell me if it's possible for someone to track your tps? I have an ex that I know is doing that...she keeps meeting me on alt avs and trying to win me back..She isn't a threatening person but I just know this is happening to me and after several times being with other friends of mine and having women drop right on my head while dancing with a friend, I know it;s not paranoia..I don't want to cause any problems or report her as she was my wife in this game and I still care for her even if the marriage dissolved, but I just want to know how I can stop her from following me.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

I should add that this is not the av it is happening on . I thought about just making a new av but that would mean losing a lot of inventory that I spent a lot of lindens to create. I know there are anti spy ittems for sale on various websites for SL but none look like they check inventory for spy items. I think the whole idea of spying on anyone in a game is silly so I am ttaking this with a grain of salt, but now everytime I meet someone I think it's her. I know sometimes it is...but surely not everytime lol

My approach to such a person would be aggressive, not in the sense of being violent, more like aggressively projecting an attitude.
If at first sign that an alt is an ex; mute, ban, eject...wash, rinse and repeat if necessary.
This is basically telling her that is over, done, finished, kaput...GO AWAY!
*The opinions expressed by this avatar is solely that of the avatar, and not the player.*

From: Taluun Tendandes Can anyone tell me if it's possible for someone to track your tps? With a modified viewer it's not too hard to track any avatar anywhere on the grid. It's built into the protocol, the standard viewer just hides that. (In other words: you can't truly stop being tracked, your recourse would be to use the AR system to report any harassment.)

Log your main with a slim version of SL...SLeek works good, and just have it hang out at some camping site for a week or two. You'll be tracked; but, it wouldn't do her any good...The light would be on; but, no one is home. Plus, you'll have the added bonus of having a bit of camping cash in your pocket. In the meantime, go on with your alt, and have a little fun without the worry of being constantly tracked. In a week or two, resume as normal. If worse comes to worse...AR the crap out of her.

So have you removed any scripted attachments? (And scripts can be hidden in prims within that you don't see...) Any jewelry she might have given you? Any shoes, belts, hair, huds, etc.? Those are the things I usually see as responses to these types of threads, and isn't it far easier for her to have put a script in something and given it to you than anything else? (This presume you have remembered to uncheck her ability to see you on the map to begin with? It is easy to forget, people usually turn it on and never undo it...)

Yup, I agree with the previous suggestions.
Remove your ex from your Friends List.
Check anything you ever received from her(if in doubt, delete and empty the trash folder).
Delete the Calling Card in Inventory(emotional clean sweep move).
I like the decoy alt idea a lot.
Change your usual in-world routine for a bit.
Mute your ex.
Does your ex have access to your home or business still? If so, can you ban the ex?
Were you partnered on your Profile and has that been changed?

Remove all of the items from your picks tab in your profile that have locations where you live or hang out.
I run across people all the time that create picks to talk about their friends, family, etc. and create them while sitting at home. I always suggest doing such activities somewhere you rarely, if ever, visit.

I think this sort of thing happens more often because people's habits and usual haunts could be anticipated by anyone that knows them well enough, rather than the use of secret spying or tracking devices. If this really is an ex getting stalkerish, can you be absolutely sure that no-one else is tipping her off regarding your whereabouts? A mutual friend or acquaintance that isn't such a good friend as you think maybe. Or someone else who knows you both might imagine they're helping by assisting with a 'chance' meeting. -- Aes

I have a friend who TP'd right in on top of me too...at a very obscure location with nobody else on the sim. Luckily, it was a friend. But he wouldn't tell me how he did it...
How the hell did he do that?

Would like to know, too. For future reference if nothing else.
I can't think of more wasted time than following someone who doesn't want to be in your world any more or vice versa - RL or SL.
But I wanna prevent this if I can. Could people be more specific how to prevent it? (If that is possible)
For instance - uncheck 'see on map'. Is that in friends list? (I dont mean the online visible thing)

Well if she knows where your land is, she will keep on finding you, but if you uncheck the option in your contact list that people can find you on the map (second option) then they can't possibly find you. But if she knows where you live, then yeah, abuse reports? Why. Someone begging you to come back to you isn't really an offense I guess. stalking however is. So forfeit your land, move elsewhere, and DON'T list your land in search It's the only option I can think of.

I've heard there are (non prim based) av trackers but I thought it was a SLurban myth.

(I dont mean the online visible thing) Yes, it's one of the tick boxes against their name in your friends list. It's unchecked by default if I remember correctly, but some people do allow this routinely for pals - or possibly by mistake when looking through the options. Keep it unchecked and your location won't show on their map. -- Aes

my stalkerish old girlfriend hid a scripted tracker in a pair of really cool leather trousers and coat she bought me........after a while i sussed it and now there is a very well dressed newbie walking around Help or Orientation Islands, in no particular hurry to leave and where she can't access. Probably drives her crazy..............lol

In your profile pics a location is set under each pic. anyone can tp to those locations in sl. You dont have much of a story either unless you verbally tell her to stay off of your land, then ban her if you have access to do so. I had a slave who had a botfriend stalkeing her on alts and tpd me to my own house once to talk about her. I removed my house location from my pics after that.
