Hello , this is not a complain thread or anything , I want t know what to do becose I am really undecded now .... some of you may know Las Islas sims complex some othr not .... I wish you could visit at least once befoure eventually I dismiss some of them , probably 3 sims ......

Help me decide what to do or how toeventually save the sims ....

what can I do ?
Due to fnancial problems I can no longer sustain all of them , ok I expanded too much etc , but the fact is that I spent tons of hours and fatigue into creating everything and now I find myself on the verge of inauguration day that wpould coincide also with the closing day ...... so should I try to save them ? should Ijust reconvert them to a smaller size? should I sell into pieces or what?

Help me decide couse I am really undecided on how to procede .....

here are some of the pictures that I picked among the many done at Las islas sims ...

Naiman, it's not a simple question and honestly, if you feel you'll be financially constrained with the price hike for OS sims, then drop them. Just back up the items you have there.

if you can afford to keep them, and want to keep them, then pay the new fees and enjoy and quit thinking about it.

if the tier increase is too steep for your comfort level, then let them go. it's really a matter of finances and how YOU want to spend YOUR money.

no one can decide this but you.

You can 'sell' parcels for $1L and charge $2L a prim a week in rent to your new tenants. This is the standard arrangement for residential islands. If you rent out 7,500 prims at $2L a week then you make a monthly income of $60,000L. That leaves you with $100 USD to pay a month out of your pocket. Rent a few more prims out and cover your entire teir. This will call for you to re-design some areas and give up some high-prim designed areas.

Also make sure your covenant states that the land is a rental, they do not own it and cannot re-sell (turn re-sell off in Land Management tools).

If you want some tools to track rentals (excel sheets with equations, etc.) contact me and I will e-mail them to you. SL, unfortunately does not have online tools to allow one to run rental island efficiently.

Well problem wth rental is that it needs space and shops etc .... I added some but I didnt want to put many becouse would ruin the view ... so for example in las rocas I placed 13 minishopsat 10 l per prim but even if Irent them all .... I woudlnt be able to pay for the tiers upcoming after I guess , and I guess I ll neer rent the all ,..... also rising above 10 l per prim I guess is too much .....

10L per prim is too much to start with

most folks won't rent over 4L per prim (or less)

If you feel you can not afford to keep it, then give it up.

(as has already been mentioned)

You need to seriously re-examine your business model.

I do not think you need the shops. Homesteaders at $2L a prim would suffice.

well I wouldnt even like to rent possibly but if I had to rent to pay for the sims , lets say exclluding at least two , and paying just for the rest ... 150 x 150 + 150 = 450 usd at 2 l per prim it about 125000 l would be like having to give in rent 15625 prims? where I find them? I have at max 7000 at 2 l per prim woud mean if I d rent all about 14000 l week ?
and I d have to cover the wholeland with shops thus ruining all the work done to preserve the beauty and harmony of the place ...

Your islands are very beautiful - I spent a long time there last night appreciating the shorelines and waves.

With more time, you could explore options such as selling to someone who would keep the sims intact, renting, etc. But if you have to decide by Jan 1, that doesn't leave many options. Figure out what you can afford and rework your content to fit. Look to rebuild once the SL economy recovers and/or you regain your competitive position for your products.

It seems as though there might be people who would pay to hold weddings and parties there...

Or skybox rentals, if you want to preserve the land below.

Someone with deeper pockets, such as a RL business.

Have you visited Dive World? The sim has wonderful undersea life (but no waves). I doubt they make enough money on virtual diving equipment to support the sims, but apparently the sponsor thinks the advertising and environmental education is important to their RL business. Maybe they'd be interested in improving their land/coastline? I have no idea - maybe they'll be gone in January too. Worth a try, though.

Naiman, I love your waves, and your clothes, would it be possible to keep Las Arenas and the clothes store sim? I know I rush to buy when I know you have something new out, and know a few friends who are the same.

Las Arenas is such a good advert for your waves, what about offering some select rentals on there as well?

Also have you thought about offering a landscaping service for sim owners?

I would consolidate your holdings down, but keep your two flagships.

As a side note, I am not affiliated to Naiman in any way, but I urge all to have a look at their waves and clothes, and if you can make use of them you will be compelled to buy, because they are of astoundingly high quality.

This is a perfect example of the type of content creator that we should be doing our best to support.
