Alright, I'm curious ;)

Say I turn off "Auto Return" and people rez items that are not part of the land's group. And say I turn "Auto Return" back on. Will it return their stuff, or do they get Grandfathered and their items remain?

Is there a way, other than cutting land, to set it so the auto return doesn't affect a certain place? (10x10 meters or so)

Looking to see if there are ways around the Land's group setting ;)

Yes it will return their stuff.

No I don't think there's a way around cutting the land to avoid autoreturn in a small area. :)

don`t forget that it will also return any objects that are NOT set to group by people who are renting and didn`t have the right active group

If they're lucky and the grid doesn't eat it. I shudder to think of all the times something was *supposedly* autoreturned, got the official linden chat message about it, and it never showed up. When I leave an event (such as a themed dance where more couples dance sets were needed and I'd loaned mine), I pick up my own.

Trust is like a bubble. Once busted, no amount of superglue can repair it.

That would be their own fault ;) As Auto Return is already enabled, renters should already know to have the correct tag on - Otherwise it would get returned anyway.

Heck, I know better but Auto Return still manages to find those couple items that I've forgotten to edit group tag on! Lol. Alas, all is fair.

Usually the stuff is autoreturned, only as a coalesced object (I think that's the right term), which appears as a kind of rubiks cube in your inventory. You need to drag it out somewhere, and then you can retrieve everything individually.
