Does anybody happen to know where to find the "Korean channel" the recent blog post was alluding to?

The “Korean channel” of 32 voids has been up for a few weeks, with a burbling volcanic island in its midst. Check out the long stretch of water — about two miles!

Gellan Glenelg said there's a Department of Public Works sign on the "Linden Estate Services" sim showing a project to fill the north south gap in the southern continent with void sims. This sign should be near http://slurl.com/secondlife/Linden%20Estate%20Services/128/128/0

From Ensel to Hiersch sims, so I'm told.

Ensel's at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ensel/146/88/1

The channel in the middle of the so-called "Korean continent" -- the southernmost continent, below Sansara. It used to have a big gap in the middle of it, it is now filled in with 30 mostly void sims.

Ah, I see. Might be worthwhile to try out boating there.

Thanks.

Sweet Sling. I may have to take Phoenix II out there for her sea trials.

It's a great channel for sailing. Not a *lot* of stuff to look at, but a lot of open water.

I remember looking around when they first filled in the gap and yes, there wasn't a lot there. Void sims are much nicer than no sims, though! :)

Has anybody taken another look around lately for Magellan artifacts that might have washed ashore?

Sailing along the coastlines in the new sims can be interesting.

It's different to 'normal' coast in that LL added a strip of Linden land to merge the new water sims into the existing land that had been cut abruptly at the sim edges.
They did put in some effort to make the coastal terrain more interesting and eventful than is the case for resident-owned coastlines. The sea floor has some variety as well.

Michael Linden has a build in the water just North of the central island.

I was looking at dat build. It appears to be a bit date -- an inspection on some prims reveals 2005 dates on those prims! the interior is also kinda cramped an stuff. Still, a neat lookin place sittin out there. I wonder what its story is?

I liked the sea floor in those areas. Reminded me a bit of the very interesting void seafloors on Heterocera.

I kinda suspect the island and volcano are not 100% finished. At least I hope not.

That build seems to be on RL dimensions.
Still - great for small avatars :)

The volcano seems definitely interrupted.
You can drop down inside and sit on the (unscripted immobile) blobs of lava and have a chat.

I also have a parcel in Pogon sim, opposite the island. But it's not directly on the water. It's got Linden land betwixt.
I have it mind to set up a touring vehicle that people can use to explore
- or a moving dance-floor that starts in Pogon, flies slowly over to the island and lands on the beach for a party (as long as people keep 'sitting')
