Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the entire Linden Trees and Plants range ? I have two trees and two plants, however I understand there is quite a large range available. I've bought several trees from gardening centers however I find they tend to be a bit laggy, whereas Linden tress never have that problem. I also think that in the right situation they are the best looking.

Hi Astrid, All of the Linden Trees and plants are in the Library section of your inventory. I forget if the folder is called "landscaping" or "Plants and trees." If you scroll toward the bottom and you will find them. Happy Landscaping.

How strange, the last time I looked in there all I found was a few avi body textures and nothing else, now everything is there. All this time I've been searching the freebie sources and it's all been right under my nose.
Thanks Nimue, now I'll go play with my new stuff.

Additionally - if you create a new object, and choose the tree or plant icon, you will rez a Linden item...and they will cycle through the choices as you keep rezzing them.
So, you can just rez / delete on your land as you like, until you find one that looks good... (if you don't feel like poking for the folder)

Astrid, It's also fun to browse them at random with the edit command. Look for the little tree icon and rezz them just like you would a plywood box. Each time you rezz it will be a different one. When you come across one that works, you can rename it whatever you want and then re-take it.
EDIT: P.S. Joseph, obviously great minds think alike!

For those who would like to browse a picture gallery of the Linden trees: http://inventory.wavescrashing.org/image/tid/17Info: Linden trees are created by Linden Lab and are a special type of object. Although complex, they only count as one prim -- but if viewed from a distance, they can go very lo-res and look cartoonish. They sway in the wind, and can only be rezzed on land you own. You may notice that not all "Linden trees" are actually trees. Some are bushes, grass, or aquatic plants. They differ as a group from the "Linden grasses" in that they rez only a single object (the grasses rez a patch with many clumps). And along the same vein, the Linden grasses: http://inventory.wavescrashing.org/image/tid/18Info: Linden grasses are created by Linden Lab and are a special type of object. Each patch of grass contains about 10-15 separate clumps, but the whole patch only counts as one prim. The patches are rather sparse, but overlapping multiple patches will increase the density. One especially useful feature of Linden grasses is that they follow the contour of the terrain, without the need to be rotated and raised into the proper position. Like Linden trees, Linden grasses can only be rezzed on land you own.

Avion and (or) Joseph, is there an enable command or something to make this work, I tried using the 'tree' and 'grass' icons but nothing happens (everything else works fine) ?
I can rez the items from my library inventory well enough but this shortcut method doesn't seem to work for me. I've been looking at my preference settings but there doesn't seem to be anything relating to this.

How handy! This also reminds me, again, of why I want SpeedTree in SL. Mari

Astrid Astrid, It either has to be your own land, or the group permissions have to be set for "enable landscaping with Linden plants" (or whatever it's called). So that might be why you can't even if build is enabled. If you bought from an estate, or you're renting, you can just ask the owner if they can allow that.

I only started to make plants because I got frustrated with the limitations of Linden trees. Sadly, they seem even more limited nowadays, with them being "challenged" under Windlight. Mari

The Lindens should definitely make more trees and plants, selling your creations whatever they are is a privledge not a right.

LL has started adding more newbie skins which is great yet I don't think it's going to hurt the skin makers because eventually people want better quality and they don't want to see the same thing out there time and time again. I think it's the same thing with flowers and trees. It'd be nice to have more options to start but eventually most people would prefer better quality or more options.

I didn't mean to start a kerfuffle. I love Linden trees and plants and, personally, would like to see more of them.
