Given that LL has licensed or bought or otherwise acquired some Google search capability, might it be possible to use that Google search capability to search the forums?
It would be so nice to have a decent search function for these forums.

Advanced Search with "Show Results as Posts" checked and only selecting the forums I want searched usually works well for me.
I'm sure they could have it index the forums (they did it for the wiki), but I don't think it'll be very likely.

I support this. I've tried the forums built-in search, and I know it misses things matching the criteria and adds stuff that doesn't match, so it's pretty b0rked. It's also awfully fussy about what it considers a valid word on which to search--which is especially annoying on Scripting Tips, where it sometimes permits searching by LSL function name, sometimes not, depending on the name, how nicely you ask, and the phase of the moon. Maybe search would improve with a newer version of the forums software that doesn't require sorting the punchcards first. But Google kinda knows how to do this stuff now, so why not?
