Last year there was something called winterfest with some outstanding seasonal and holiday builds.

There will be a sim called Decemberville beginning soon. (Same sim that did Octoberville for Halloween.) I think there is an open group by that name to join for activity notices as well.

Many sims I have been going to whether for shopping for exploring have also adopted a winter theme as well. (Bogarts is the first one off the top of my head I've been to recently.)

I've decorated my land for Christmas, if you'd like to come. It's not extremely elaborate, but cute. Only a 4508 plot, but very Christmasy, I think. If you're interested, IM me inworld, and I'll send you a landmark.

Venuzia, tp to the club area then near the back is the tp to thier Winter build in the sky.

The North Pole... Coming Soon!

I recently bought a sim and am ramping it up for Christmas. I had the island moved as far north and center as it could be on the grid. I'm renting just the land, without fancy decoration, but the covenant is very specific that any build have a winter theme, and I must approve all builds to ensure they're appropriate (like the Christmas carol and The North Pole covenant state 'it must nearly be like a picture print by Courier an Ives'). Right now, I'm having the town hall (my holiday home) built with an ice skating rink outside and even the rental boxes look like Christmas presents. The private sim lag this weekend is slowing down the building, but we should meet our goal of a noon, Thanksgiving Day opening.

We have decorated our island Urantia with a Winter/Christmas theme. There are some places there to take some good pictures. You can sit on the lap of the giant Christmas bear among the gifts.

The most beautiful winter sim I've seen so far is Julia Hathor's. Sorry - not inworld so I don't have the specific landmark but it will be in her Picks or Classifieds. I think I found it by searching (old search) on "wonderland".

It's an absolutely stunning white world with the most fabulous houses, frozen trees, animals ... you name it

matika Wombat has a very Christmasy build at her Agape sim. Complete with toy train, toy soldiers, a skating Frosty the Snowman AND a manger scene.

I don't believe Winterland is open in Del Aqua yet, but if you get on the border between it an Del Sol, you can get some nice piccies. Jes gotta be a little... creative.

The Magical Musical Ice Cabe in NCC is also great for piccies. Actually, dat whole sim is taking on a christmassy feel.

Yule could also be good, in spots, thought it feels more fantasy than holiday.

I'd definitely recommend that one.
Besides the fact that that cave is totally magical, the surrounding area is great for skating around and it has lots of Christmas trees as well.
Mysti Acres also has a lovely wintery feel to it, plus you could check out Skate Scotland or Romance Ice Skating at Yalu, quite a few Chritsmassy things there as well.
