Recently, when logging in, I've found myself confronted by various brief announcements about something or other to which Linden Labs wish to draw my attention. These announcements always conclude with the instruction to "click this link http://tr.im/whatever " (or something like that) to learn more". Clicking the log-in screen doesn't, however, seem to open Firefox. Seriously, should I be interested in finding out more about whatever it is, is there an alternative to making a note of the url and looking there later?

I think they should reword it, and let people know to look for the "message of the day" (and where to find it) so they can click the hyperlink in it.
(edit) Wow, it's not where I remember seeing the menu choice for "message of the day", nor does it come up as the first lines in our chat. In it's current state it's only useful for those with photographic memories or who take a fast enough screen shot.
S.N.A.F.U. for sure.

On my system clicking the link works.
I believe the MOTD has been gone for a while.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville On my system clicking the link works. I believe the MOTD has been gone for a while. Hmm. Doesn't work for me on either my Linux or Windows XP set ups. Maybe something to do with the fact I use the Cool Viewer with both.

clicking the announcement thing on the load screen works for me (the one under the progress bar)
maybe it has to do with some setting in SL, such as the open embedded browser or external browser (just a guess)
using windows xp, firefox and client version Second Life 1.22.11 (113976) Mar 6 2009 16:05:03 (Second Life Release Candidate)
