Left Mouse Doesn't Always Work

I'm having trouble with my left mouse select...it doesn't sometimes. This started happening a month or more ago the last time SL was freaking reverting my prims to the previous state. There was a server update around that time and that's when my left click started not to work all the time. I know it's not the mouse, because I tried 2 other mice and it did it with them too. The mouse works fine out side of SL. No one else I talked to seems to have this problem.
I hope someone here knows what I'm talking about and why it would just start happening.

The mouse is a Logitech track ball cordless.

If I understand your problem (which I may not) I can think of two things to check (un-check actually)

Tools/Select Only My Objects
Advanced/Limit Select Distance

I just tried those and they make no difference..distance can me very close or very far..it just stops working. If I place my mouse somewhere else it usually works.
I am usually working building my own things when this happens most.
Right now I'm working on hair..no alpha..it seems to keep doing it when I click the hair to move my camera. It usually happens while clicking on something using the camera.

I have seen this. It seems session-related. The same software and hardware and sim location might be fine one day, and the next time you log in, it takes several clicks to left-click a prim. I suspect that when it is bad, you have been connected to an assset server in the cluster that is having issues. When it is good, the asset server you are on has no prioblems.

Last time I experienced this, I was using the new 1.20.15 standard client, on a high-end Mac system, in a class 5 sim. Made it extremely hard to work on the building I was making. Yet the next time that I logged in, eveyrthing was back to normal. The prims wee all my own, and nothing changed on my end between those two sessions. Except that I had logged off and logged back on again.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

I've only been in two regions the first a quality sandbox when this started happening. I know some of the admins there and asked if they had or heard of any problems like I was having..I was the only one.
The second being my new home in an updated region. My friend who owns the land does not have this problem.
I don't recall if I tried relogging, but I'm sure I did when this started happening. I'll try a relog again when it happens again to see if it helps.

OK I tried relogging..doesn't help...
