Ability to post on forums blocked?

A friend of mine has mysteriously lost the ability to post on these forums. He's a premium member, but all the lines in the Posting Rules at the bottom of the screen say he may not post even though he's logged in.

He was able to post previously, and he's able to access his User CP; he submitted a ticket to LL three weeks ago about the problem, but it still isn't fixed. Has anyone else had this issue come up? If so, did you find out what the problem was?

You can get your posting privileges revoked if you break the rules (or break them often after warnings).

Maybe sent an IM to Strife? Not that (s)he would be able to help directly, but (s)he might know a better way to resolve it, or maybe be able to check if "abuse" was the reason rather than an odd glitch.

(Contacting Katt Linden might help too, I'm not sure Lindens on the support would actually know much about the forums and be able to help much)

The friend in question isn't a rule-breaking sort. Abuse is definitely not what's happened here. He got a notice that they'd closed the ticket about a week and a half ago, with the comment "Forwarded to forum admin." He has reopened the ticket, reminding them that it still isn't fixed.
