Teleporting and Attachments?

I teleported to a store and when I got there, once again I was missing a shoe and the petticoat to my dress looked like it had reattached at the knee, hanging far below my knee length dress. Now, I've always been curious as to whether or not other people see me as I do, expecially at times like this. Well, I just happened to have a second session logged in with an alt, so my alt TP'd to my location. To my alt, I looked completely normal - not messed up in any way.

So, is this always the case? When I see my shoe up my ass, or my hair missing, or some other botched attachment, is it always only me that sees this. Or is it another one of those wonderful SL random things and the rest of the SL world does get this view sometimes?

Yes, I have experienced it lots over the months. What I was wondering about was in this particular case, my Alt saw me normally even though I looked botched to myself. So when this stuff happens, do other people someitme see the messed up me like I see myself or do they always see me normal like my Alt did today?

I've found that most changes can be fixed by rewearing everything, simplest method is to do a right click folder "replace outfit" and then go back to the previous.... for hair/shape/etc changes you can go into edit, pop back out, and click "no" on the the "do you want to save changes" window

yes, once in a while I've been told that my shoes were floating away, or hair up the butt, or the like, while my avatar has looked just fine to me, so it can go different ways

The old shoe up the bum experience. It happens a lot I'm afraid.

Yesterday was my first experience with my avi shoving her head up her own butt. No one else could see it either. Made my back hurt just watching it.

The OPs original question was whether others saw the same thing or not.

It has been my experience that others can occasionally see this, but going on the theory that if I see it nearly every time I TP somewhere on some days, and rarely if ever see it on other avatars on those same days, I would think it was more a client-side thing.

If you're logged in as yourself and your alt some time, try TP'ing to the alt's location instead (have the alt send you a TP) and if you arrive with clothing in yer "back pocket", see if the Alt sees the same thing then.

on the other hand...there's also been times when i look fine to myself, but others will see my hair on my elbow and my shoe up my rear....

If it's something simply like just hair, or just shoes just detach and reattach. If all of your stuff is out of wack, which I've experienced before....simply log out of SL and log back in. It should rez everything where it belongs.

I haven't seen it happen in quite awhile. Priority has been downgraded since it's relatively rare now.

My hair and a shoe followed me around a short distance away just today...

That problem had become rare...until the last release. That's the firt thing I noticed when I downloaded the last release, back to wearing stuff at the wrong place.

Oh no, that has to be the worst -- me walking around bald with my shoe up my arse and never even knowing unless someone takes pity and tells me. I never even considered that possibility.

Last night I TP'd into a PG region for a moment then remembered I wanted to go look at something else, TP'd out almost immediately. Someone apparently saw me load in, sans attachments and completely nude and lambasted me for violating the rules for nudity. After sending me the rules and telling me there's no nudity allowed, I was like, nude? I was nude? Wierd stuff, I guess I'll TP as a brick from now on.
