SLURL calling up viewer

OK - I have something happening that is driving me buggy. And there is probably an easy and obvious solution...

I have both the RC and Cool Viewer installed. Cool Viewer is installed after RC (in two different partitions)

If I am running the RC, when I go through blogs, etc. and have the famous "teleport now" webpage, I click on the button and it calls up Cool Viewer.

When I am running Cool Viewer, it tells me that Cool Viewer is already running (Yes, I do have -multiple in the link).

I usually have to go through Search or Map to head to the places. It's do-able - just impracticle and driving me bonkers.

What do I need to do to get the SLUrl to use the current viewer?

- Win XP
- Browser in separate window

I believe you have to use the preferences settings in your browser to find the "helper apps" and change the default app to handle slurls to point to the RC instead of the client it is opening. I don't remember where this can be found but it should do it for you. Good luck.

YAY!!!! Thank you very much. I knew it was just some simple setting, but couldn't find it. I looked all over the viewer and even checked through Windows, down to checking in REGEDIT if there was something there.

Now I can finally surf and then TP right off!

Rhonda - can you give details on what you changed? I have the same problem and have been unable to find the correct setting in my browser apps to change. Thanks!

i had that problem too.

you're running cool viewer - it's a feature, you have RLV enabled i guess?
switch off RLV and you can click slurls again.

I use Opera as a browser and went into the options there. Under the last tab there is a possibility to set up which program to call up for emails, etc. One of the ones in the lists was "secondlife" and I just changed which viewer it called up. (I'd give better details except I am using the browser in German...)

Probably if I want to use Cool Viewer again, I have to go back and change that again. It's still easier than trying to find the places I have found in blogs, SLX, etc., I want to TP to in search *lol*

Thank you Lance - though I am using Cool Viewer, I've not enabled RLV. Rhonda - I'm also using Opera. Your fix worked for me too. Thank you for the detail (and for asking the question).
