: igh::: On a parcel of land I rent (mainland), I rent extra prims. I guess it's set up so that any group member can build, and another time, I couldn't rez anything (parcel full it said), which turned out to be a neighbor/group member on a diff. parcel who used up 200 of my prims. Annoying, but not a big deal. Today, however, it's a different story. I wake up to this message: You have received a message from Second Life: Your 5 objects have been returned to your inventory lost and found folder near parcel x because the parcel is full. You have received a message from Second Life: Your 2 objects have been returned to your inventory lost and found folder near parcel 'x because the parcel is full. I also see that the prim allotment is gone, and I suspect the same thing happened, some neighbor took my prims. I also can't rez anything (and I should have about 150 prims left to use). The worst part is that of those 7 objects, only two were actually in my L&F folder, and I have no idea what the others were. One thing I saw missing is totally gone, and nowhere to be found in my inventory. Fortunately, it wasn't an expensive item, but still....aggravating. As far as I can tell, without a full list of what was returned, everything was one or two prims. My question is this: why did SL return these? Shouldn't it have just told the person who overspent their prims that the parcel was full and they can't rez??? I don't understand why it returned things to me. It seems like stuff already rezzed for months would trump new objects being rezzed? Now I've got this fear that one day I'm going to wake up and have a huge mess on my hands. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again? And is there anything my landlord can do to control people and their prim use? I'm really ticked off about having things returned to me like that.

Do you know what the icon looks like if more then one object is bundled together in a return? The kind of puzzled together box? Perhaps your other objects are bundled in with the ones you can see.

Yes, they were that icon, and I DID find the lost object - it was at altitude 4085. Geez. I still wonder why these things were returned...they were totally random.

recently, i had a tenant rez something that used up WAY more prims than i had available. i lost 1/2 the mall, and a bunch of my tenants had stuff returned.
this is an evil glitch, as is coagulating returns. if something is no copy in that bunched box, you might not be able to retrieve it. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

LOL well, not actually 1/2 i suppose, but certainly a great enough portion for it to look incomplete.
seems that the most recent additions are what get returned. so any new tenants got their stuff returned, as did the areas created to house their wares... and worse, in my main part of the mall whole walls were gone, ALL the walkways were gone, and lots of plants were gone.
now, i wonder where those lost easter hunt eggs rerezzed at. =/

From: Desiree Lorgsval Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again? And is there anything my landlord can do to control people and their prim use? There is, but it's difficult: they'd have to create and belong to a separate group for each rental so that the land deeded to that group doesn't share prim allotment with any other tenant. This is actually a very nice approach because tenants can be given all kinds of useful abilities if they only apply to the land they're renting--but with only 25 groups per account, it burns through group-owning alts very quickly (and on Mainland, each such alt has to cover the tier for the group land--one can't contribute tier to a group of which one doesn't remain a member). As far as what you can do yourself... I think finding a landlord able and willing to create a separate group for you is about the only thing. (Although... Does anyone know if Locking an object in any way discourages the bug from returning that object??)

I have so many of those icons, and had no idea what they meant; I thought it meant it was corrupt somehow. So I was searching in my inventory for something and saw one and thought "I'll just see what that is" and I JUST FOUND TWO THINGS THAT DISAPPEARED MONTHS AGO. I thought forever. In fact, I liked them so much (they were no copy) I bought new ones. (That's okay....I can use two of both!) I just told my friend, and she went searching too...she found some dance balls that had flown away, and she's THRILLED. This is fantastic! Thank you Whimsycallie - this disaster turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I'm gonna rez more of those things and see what else I find. LOL!

Keep all of the above in mind when setting your own "objects" down, particularly those sent to you by a friend, that are not clearly titled or chock full of prims you had not anticipated or bundled items in your lost and found.
Had a friend set down an object that his friend gave him. It wasn't titled...it happened to be a 90 prim house. It returned a huge amount of bits and pieces from a very elaborate deck and stairway system on a hillside, that took me weeks to make. Total disaster.
Same thing with a house warming invitation sent to me. I consider setting out an invitation harmless enough....how many prims can it have....three or four. This one had 75.....a section of the store returned for that one. And would assume that everyone who received that invitation was in a similar tizzy.
Not sure why the message didn't pop up that says you don't have enough prims left on your parcel to rez this object....didn't pop up in either case.
