I was business partners with two friends who have decided not to own land anymore. I had a club on their land with many $L worth of No Copy items, like dances, contest board, etc. Due to a mis-communication with the estate owner the island was taken offline prematurely. It's been about 12 hours and nothing has been returned to my Lost and Found folder. Have I lost $9000L in inventory? I have a copy of the club and the things I built, that's no problem. I have found new land for the club. I'm not looking forward to spending $9000L again due to someone else's mistake.

put in a support ticket, include the name of the sim
sometimes LL will bring it online so you can get your stuff (as long as you are not the sim owner, if the owner owes money or something, my guess would be they would have to pay what they owe first)
anywho, no harm putting in a ticket

Contact Linden Lab. They can reopen the sim so you can get your stuff back. There is precedent for this. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick replies. Tiers on this land were paid through April 28th. The estate owner took the land offline prematurely (we think to avoid more tiers herself). I don't have a premium account. Can I still open a support ticket? One of the other people involved DOES have a premium account.

Although you can open a support ticket, other than for Billing questions it's likely to end up in a queue that doesn't get much attention. It would be better if the Premium account holder opened the ticket--and much better if you can enlist the Estate owner to use their Concierge-level support to get prompt attention to the matter. I can see how the Estate owner may be nervous that asking for support on a sim for which they've stopped paying might entail additional charges; I don't think that would be a problem in reality, however. So if either you, the Premium member, or both open support tickets and tell the Estate owner the ticket numbers, they should be able to get on live chat and just point to those existing tickets.

Interestingly enough, there is a lot of talk in other threads here about the plusses and minuses of estates/islands vs. mainland, with your exact situation being mentioned frequently. I hope things work out for you.

Good news! The friend/business partner who is a Premium Account holder contacted Linden Labs. Our land was reactivated for 24 hours to allow us to retrieve our items. Everything was still intact. There is still the matter of the tier payments. Tiers were paid through April 15th for one island the 28th for the other. Both were taken offline by one of the estate managers April 7th. We believe a refund is due from the estate (NOT from Linden Labs). I'm posting this for a follow up and for future readers of this thread who find themselves in the same situation.

From: HotRodJohnny Gears Oh, get this! I am now banned from the ENTIRE Estate!! Just to complete the logic of this for my poor addled brain: the estate is gone, yes? So, how does it matter that you are banned from it? And if it's not gone, what is this all about?

I took it that the Estate was alive and well, just that one region was taken offline prematurely.

Yes, the entire estate is still alive and well, it was just our two islands that were taken offline. Yes, we contacted Linden Labs and got the two islands brought back online April 10th for 24 hours. I just noticed April 13 that I couldn't TP to any of the other islands in the Estate. The estate manager made a mistake. I told her it was her mistake and she banned me from the entire estate. I'm a member of a club on one of the islands in the estate.

From: Govindira Galatea Just to complete the logic of this for my poor addled brain: the estate is gone, yes? So, how does it matter that you are banned from it? And if it's not gone, what is this all about? Private individuals or groups own "estates" and sell or rent land in these estates. The estate owners pay tiers to Linden labs and the buyers or renters of estate land pay tiers to the estate owners. This estate is HUGE. We just owned two islands in the estate. The estate owner made a mistake and took the two islands offline (April 8th) before she was supposed to (April 15th and 28th). We still had No Copy inventory items (Contest Boards, Dance Balls, etc.) rezzed there and could not retrieve the items.
