A friend approached me with an issue of his I have never encountered before. I hope someone can shed some light on it. Symptoms: Strange cross out effect on sims displayed in worldmap, pictured below. Unable to rez objects ("Not allowed by the permissions system" error message) Unable to use chat to a degree (others can hear him, he can not see his own or others chat.) Unable to enter sims unless through setting as log on destination. The picture below shows the map symptom, In view is a collection of estates I manage. You can see that one single sim does not show the cross out "ryder valley", In this sim all the problems go away. I have been unable to find any reason for this related to parcel and estate settings. If anyone has seen this before please let me know.

Never seen anything like it. Account specific? If not, I might guess some bizarre network routing anomaly.

The X's on the map look like Advanced, Character, Character Tests, Toggle PG is enabled.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville The X's on the map look like Advanced, Character, Character Tests, Toggle PG is enabled. We are getting somewhere! The sim Ryder valley in the picture above is infact PG, while the rest are Mature. However that setting in Character tests is not causing the problem. I toggled the settings for a few of the sims and am awaiting my friend to come test again. Thanks Suezanne, hopefully we can have this resolved soon.

I seem to remember from waaaay back reading of something like this.
There are (normaly unused) fields in our account records that were of possible use in a mixed teen/adult grid. Someone's account record got corrupt and the 'teen' flag was set for them.
This resulted in non PG sims being closed to them, and red cross-hatching in Map.
I'd say raise a suport ticket and mention this possibility.
