Lights off or on when I'm offline?

I'm setting up a nifty light switch for my house to control my lighting. It has the option to have the lights come on automatically when it is night in SL. I'm wondering if the lights would come on automatically if I was not online? Anyone know?

I'm pretty sure the lights will come on even when you're not online. It's a script that can detect the sun's position that can do that. I just think it's unlikely someone would also make it so that it doesn't come on when you're not online.
Though that's not a bad idea. The same thing could be done for facelights.
Maybe lights inside could be made to come on and go off at intervals. Could help keep away the burglars.

All the night/day scripts I've seen do it regardless of whether the owner is online. If you want, tho, you can certainly modify the script to only work when you are online or (even easier) when you are in the sim.

A light turned on wouldn't stop a griefer to enter your house :). But it is a simple thing to do.

You want all of your lights to come on in your house or just the ones near the computer?

me thnks you may be getting too involved with SL

in any case, just buy a 24 hour timer at any store and plug the lights that you want to control into it.
they typically have little tabs that you either pull out or push in to set the times....set the appropriate times to turn the lights on and off according to the SL schedule
