I'm shopping for helicopters. I like the Hughes models with floats.

Cubey Terra has a cute little 2 seater, and Apolon sells a Hughes 700 four seat model. I like the idea of the extra seats, but is there anything else to distinguish between the two makers?

I can't give you advice on the helicopters, but here's the best advice regarding Brenda: Don't take a swig of Diet Coke before reading her posts or it may end up coming out your nose.

I have a Bell, cant remember the model. What I really wanted was a Blackhawk, but the Bell was a gift. It's rotar goes around, wheels up, doors open and it makes sound, holds six I think. The dang thing is hard to fly though because you have to do it in "mouse view", so I get lost a lot. It takes about 3 seconds to fly it across an island too. Ohh and no one can fly it but me. It is very pretty and I love it. Any one want to go flying, there is a big chance of crashing and dying. :) You can find them on slexchange...

I know all about crashing and dying, thanks...I've flown with Trout. ;)

What I'm looking for is a comparison between the Terra and Apolon Hughes copters...

Crashing and dying is what makes it fun.

QFT, Cap'n Trout.

Come crash and die with me tonight. I bought the cutest pink Hughes 700 on floats...I think I'll call it the Barbiecopter.

I don't own either, but I've flown both. I prefer Terra over the two. He does make a Huey equivalent that seats 4 and can be flown by anyone you wish. It is also colorchanging and has a bunch of neat insignia you can add as well. I think it's a C200 or something like that. I have been meaning to get one. If you go to J&S Aviation the have all his ships on display. They also have a great scripted freebie helipad. I own an LB 500 from Lahar Broadway, and my Huey comes from Phase 5. You can also get a Blackhawk that can seat 10 from Crystal Studios. Happy Rotoring.

J&S sells hangars too. ;) Check out the build there it's very nice. If I had the free island discussed in the other thread, I'd have someone make something similar, a place fo aviators to hang out.

I also have the C700 from Apolon, mine is cammo, but they come in several colors, including Barbie pink. I'm happy with it so far. It's a two seater so you are welcome to take a ride if that helps at all.

Being an avid whirlybird flier on this side of SL, I looooove my single seater ZX Assault chopper - freebie, but the script engine in it is so smooth. It almost compensates for SL's border crossing, lag and server hand off issues. Almost.

For group outings, I have a Blackhawk troop carrier. It will seat up to 11 of your friends in style, has moving doors and came in three different styles. (Marines, Army, Anti-chip undercoat plain-grey) The flight engine it has is simplified, not being the sharp as a turning knife and physical simulation that the ZX assault has, but it is butter smooth and a might bit faster than flying about on your own when she gets up to speed. She flies like the Dominus Shadow style of car when you throw it into flight mode/hover.

A word of caution though, once you find and get the ride you like and once you get your head into the clouds - you may never come back down! *giggle* I prefer to plot a course and fly across the continents here on SL rather than TP into a locale or fly unaided. :3
