Picked up my house - came back the next day, tried to put it in a new place, and got this message. Cleared cache, relogged, same problem. It's listed in inventory, but won't rez, same message appears. Apparently when this happens, sometimes these items show up in the beta grid? What the heck? Too hard for me. I just want my house back.

It is not uncommon for items to get corrupted in the asset database. Hopefully your house had copy perms and you can just rez another one.

I sometimes run into situations where a house got corrupted when coming back into inventory, even future copies will be messed up since the asset ID has been corrupted. The only solution in those cases is to totally purge the house from inventory (all the way down to emptying the trash) and have the creator send a new copy. I've had to do this 3 times in the past year for customers.

And I don't have any left shoes. *True* This is the first time this has ever happened to me. Think I will wait a day or so and see if they come back.. I am so sorry though your house is missing that is a big deal.

I had this with a notecard in a vendor. Which is a lot less worrying than having this problem with a house but it was the same error message.

Was this a prefab or one you built yourself?

I think Isablan is right. I have never had anything return once I received this message. No amount of cache clearing, reinstalling, etc. makes a difference once this happens. Contact whoever sold you the house and pray.

It's a fairly Common Bug, I've already advised Eve In World to wait 24 hours, then try again, If the File still causes the same message, start a bug report ticket. This isn't the first time this has happened, But in Most Cases, it's a simple matter for LL to restore the items, and most people get satisfaction. the main thing is to be Patient, it can take LL a Few days to address given the number of Bug reports they get. Start the Ticket, then if you don't get a response in a few days, make an enquirey.

Angel.

Oh dear! this has been happening to me with clothes. I click "replace outfit" and start getting messages that it can't rez items because they are not in th data base. Next thing I know I'm standing there bald and naked. I had been hoping that it would fix itself...

*side comment here* This really illustrates the difficult economics of supporting a user-content platform like SL. Let's say the house originally cost $L2000 (~ 8$ USD). And let's say the burdened cost of LL support is $50/hour USD (burdened here means including real estate, phone system, healthcare ... everything). [Less for India, but the engagement time per call is usually higher with outsourced support].

If it is really really easy for LL to verify that a caller originally owned the item and restore it, then let's say they can zip through this and all the associated "trouble ticket" tracking system in .5 hours of aggregated employee time. It then cost 25$ to restore a single $8 item.

That is what their support model obligates them to do, and probably it's a good thing if people who are entitled to support do call them in these scenarios. It makes these frequently-occurring, unbelievably irritating bugs (that may seem trivial to LL) economically painful.

There is a JIRA on this...they keep saying they have fixed the issue I think, but,....everything you have lost in the past is just gone. I wont go into how much I have lost again (Im a big whiner on this topic, sorry) but its bad....so bad :(

Do you get the same message if you try to copy and paste to make a new one while it is still in your inventory?

Waves cheerfully, houseless, to Angelique :) Tried again after 36 hours, no luck. Someone said something about looking on the beta grid? So strange. I feel more virtuously impoverished without a house anyway...

So to ask again, was this house your original design or a prefabricated home you bought?
