How to change Group Owner

There are 2 of us in the group. "A" is the owner - "B" is the member. "A" wants to give owner status to "B" . Can anyone tell me how "A" goes about assigning ownership to "B" if it's at all possible ?

Go to groups, highlight your group, click info.

Then under member names highlight the member you want to give owner rights to, there's a tick box.

Be very very careful about doing this. Owner rights are pretty damn powerful.

Be aware that once you make them an owner you cannot rescind it, ever. They must resign the role. They can also dispose of any group owned assets without you even having a say about it.

Also note that this can not be reversed, you can not eject another owner from the group or take away the owner rights, also the founder will remain as it is, I have even seen groups where the original founder has canceled the account and no other owners or officers where assigned and kept going with the original founder name in the group discription, this is also the only way a group can be without owner, an owner can not leave a group if they have not assigned another owner.

I will also add the Founder has a unique role of being the only person who can have an Owner of a group removed. This cannot be done by the Founder directly, but on submission of a support ticket to Linden Lab who will normally not contest this since it is the Founder (not other owners) who paid for the group's creation. This applies whether the Founder is still an Owner or not, or whether they are still in the group or not. The Founder can also get themselves added back in at whatever role (including Owner) and other people added in or promoted at whatever level (including Owner).
