so, you find a place that plays great live music through realplayer, and you want to add it to your parcel in SL?

how do you find the url to make that link?

I think you get it from your player software. Like when you go to shoutcast and try playing a station from there it opens up whatever player software you have. So probably in realplayer there is a menu option to show the stream info.

You may want to avoid realmedia, they have their own formats. And we all know SL is limited in media inputs. If it's not a livestream MP3 it won't work.

i went to the shoutcast website, and the music pops up in my realplayer. i don't see any way to find the url of the media being played, even at the shoutcast website itself.

Right-click on the "tune in" button and "save target as" a playlist file to your PC. Open the file in a simple text editor, you can see the URLs in there.
