Could they really not think of a better name?
Oh, and best think of an SL related question too.
Ummm....what's your favourite Prim? I like the cylinder best.

The torus rules. It's really the most versatile prim out there (aside from sculpties now).
With the torus you can create things from complete knots, to 20m circular platforms, to pillars. _____________________

Ooh, torus. Make the "eye" of the torus small enough, and the body big enough, and put the right texture on it, and you could make it look just like Hurricane Dean. Just saying.

One of these day's there's going to be a 'Hurricane Higgins' (hahaha...no stop..my sides are splitting...oh yes all the folks in the UK will be falling about at that one..hehehe)
ummm...you can't beat the good old cube..it's quintessential simplicity and uniformity make it the prime prim in my book. ![]() _____________________

I like the cylinder best. gotta think up original names ![]() http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutnames.shtml Each tropical storm each year has a different name starting with A and alternating in male and female names. If more that 21 in a year, they use the greek alphabet. BTW Good luck and hope all goes as well as can be to those in the path of Dean. Gomez _____________________

Hoping I don't regret contributing to the strange double-topic...

Interesting question about Dean... either they'd had it laid out long ago and it just came out at a mildly awkward time, or SOMEbody was laughing out loud at the conception of it... assuming it's not greatly morbid humor to laugh at a hurricane.
---- Due to my love of prim efficiency and frequent occupation with inorganic forms, the TUBE has easily become my favorite prim. Thin and pointy toothpicks, nearly-20-meter circles, flat little coins, cups complete with undersides, spiral staircases complete with guardrails, I-shaped support columns, and black-outlined cylinders (for cel-shaded looks!) are just a sample of things you can do with a single, regular Tube prim. I think of it as the 'advanced cylinder', really. _____________________

All Hurricanes used to be named after women.
Then someone decided it was Sexist to name them only after women, So it was changed to include men's names in an alternating manner. Like somehow giving equal time to the names of a storms is doing something to reduce the actual problems women continue to face. |

It would be sort of embarrassing to get whacked by a Hurricane Dean, lol. _____________________

A very large portion of the names on the list are many years old- there are several years pre-set and the only way a name gets retired is if the country it affected requests it out of respect for the damage done to property or lives. (Example: Katrina was retired, but Zeta was not) So it wasn't a funny guy, just a timing thing ^.^
