renaming clothing, skins etc

I have noticed in the past that when renaming something from within the inventory, instead of wearing and saving as a new name, that when worn, the inventory shows it as the old name

is this still the case?

(if it is still the case then I need to redo the skins I just put out as I decided on the name Fate but they were previously called jennifer LOL)

and they are mod/copy so when someone mods and wants to save it, will they see the name jennifer? since I renamed then via the inventory and not the worn/edit state

bumping to answer my own question and to say yes questions do go unanswered here (dropped to page 2)

anywho I ran a test before going off to watch TV

if you change the name of an item in your inventory, that is created via the edit appearance menu (ie clothing, skins, etc) when you go into edit mode, the item will retain the old name, not the new name you gave it

for it to keep the new name you need to rename it via the appearance mode edit window, (save as) new name

I thought this was fixed long ago, seems it wasn't
