I read this in a There.com article which read; "Although Second Life does have a teen grid, this is kept completely apart from the adult population and does not have a currency or allow commercial activity."
How do they get land and buy things for themselves? Is everything free on the teen grid?

I would imagine that they buy the L the same way that we do. And have premium accounts the same way that we do... and make things that we do. All that they can't do is the pixel wild thing!

Hm thats odd. I know the teen grid has shops and sell things just like we do. Is this false info or can teens not cash in their $L?

My son plays on the teengrid and he buys and sells lindens as needed, so yes, they have money....someone else just has to have the credit card.

Right, their limit is just waaay under what adults have. And because its a teen grid and their..teens.....the cash flow is not as nice as the adult grid. Also last I heard our grid is much more populated and tons more shops

Yes, the adult grid is populated with more teens than the teen grid I believe that minors are behind a large percentage of the unverified accounts. No wonder considering how much more they can earn here: http://secondlife.reuters.com/stories/2007/09/06/net-tightens-around-john-doe-avatar/

My son has an account on the teen grid. I have bought lindens for him, and he has spent them. (Frequently in short order.) I don't know about land, but I can say with some certainty that not everything is free on the teen grid. New question, though, purely academic: From comments on the Blog, I've gotten the impression that teen members can buy and hold land on the Teen Grid. And from the Shelter balloon tour, I know that teens graduate on their 18th birthdays and move to the adult grid. What happens if they don't sell the TG land before that time? Do they forfeit it, or does it remain for sale with the lindens credited to their account if/when it eventually does sell? I assume they can't get to it any more, which might be a problem if they wanted to change the price or abandon it. Anyone know? I assume inventory and cash on hand are transferred to the Main Grid with the account, but I'm only guessing about that. Any TG graduates in the house?
