What is the maximum height in SL?

If I was to wear a flight-assist device, and just flew up, and up, what is the maximum height I could go up to?

Would this maximum height be the same if I sat on a prim and adjusted its Z-axis to the maximum allowable value?

You can fly higher than you can build for sure, building limit is 4096meters these days

I once tried flying as high as I could. Got bored around 100,000 meters. That being said, I've been orbited out millions of meters. I used the time spent falling to organize my Inventory.

Not sure there is a limit, but it gets pretty irrelevent beyond 5,000 Meters or so. The counter goes up (or down if you free fall), but it all looks the same.

No. The limit for prim riding in that manner is 4096 Meters, same as the building limit. To get a prim higher than 4096 Meters, you have to physically push it there.

I flew up before to 2 million meters with my partner on my alt to test reading how it deforms your AV and it does. Yes, we must have been bored as it takes ages.

I got up to a little over a million meters, and yikes, you really do look...different at that altitude!

I believe I'm the first avatar to get more than MAXINT (two billion, give or take) meters above grade, but shortly after I announced that Beatfox Xevious managed to pass the trillion meter mark and I dropped out of the running.

BTW, with the right scripts it took less than five seconds to get that high.

Yes, FTL velocities were once possible in SL.

I tried 1 million using the mystitool flight assistant. Went faster than I thought after putting it on Plaid still took a long time though, respect for those that did it at the normal pace
