Okay...I'm a little foggy in this area.
I'd like to get a dance HUD, something I can add my own dances to so I don't need to access dance balls at clubs.
Any suggestions on where I can get one?
Any suggestions on a good place to get dances? Not just naughty dances, but dances of all types.

Huddles is a very good dance hud and *very* easy to drop dances into. Dances can be bought at numerous places, but Henmations and Akeyo have some I like a lot, as does Sine Wave and Animazoo.

There is a dance HUD at Huddles that fits your description. I'm not sure on the prices of HUDs, but they seem to have the same price as AOs despite the fact they include little or no animations. Maybe the scripting of these compensates for the lack of animations included to balance off the expensive price.

The non-copy version of the Huddles is 599L, the copy version (recommended) is initially pricey at 1499L, but worth it, as I found more and more uses for it (including some of the modeling you referenced in another thread).

the cheaper huddles is just the dance portion. The more expensive one has loads more stuff in it. dances, AO, flight assist, landmarks, poofer, macros... It's a pretty whiz-bang doohickey.

The 'Deluxe' is 1499. Copy/No Trans
The 'Basic' is 599. No Copy / Trans
There is also a little toolbar for 149 that can hold up to 20 dances. It is also No Copy / Trans

Aaaaaaaaand if you don't feel like spending money...
There are wearable dance tools called chimeras, which are like an invisible danceball and others can click on you to share the dance. You can probably find a free chimera on Xstreet and add your own dances to it.

What about HUDs that support couples dances? I'd expect they'd need to give a subordinate attachment to the partner in order to control the partner's position and facing direction.

Well, the Intan ball can be worn as a HUD, and of course, supports couples dances. My problem with it is that there are very very few places that will allow you to rez, and you have to be able to rez the dance balls.

Just attach to an available HUD point. You'll need to resize it though, to where it's just taking up a small portion of the screen. You just click it and the balls rez.

EDIT: Nope, I tried attaching something I had that spins with hovertext as a HUD and it still spins and has hovertext, so with the Intan one would probably want to edit the script to // out those features.

From: Maureen Boccaccio wow...I did not know that!!! I didn't either, until last fall. I had originally had all my cuddles and dances put into one Intan, but if you're not at home, that could have somewhat embarrassing effects. I have since purchased another Intan and had the balls separated back out.

Meike Heston's wonderful hugger has a very sweet, close dance animation that doesn't require any rezzing...
