How do I invite others to join an IM conversation? I know there's a way to do this, but I have no clue how.

Start from your friends list. If they are on your friends list, you can highlight all the names you want to include, and then click on IM/Call.

edit: in other words, you have to begin a new chat window...if you're already in an IM with one person, you'd have to start a "Friends Conference" window.

Just don't do what this one dude on my friendslist does and IM everyone you know simultaneously several times a day with stupid stuff like "Merry Christmas and to all a good night".

I think I get that at least three times a day.

If they're not on your friends list, and either one of you doesn't want to Add Friend, you can also do this with a calling card. Have them right-click on you and do Give Card.

Calling cards you've collected are in your inventory. You should be able alt-click several of them and start a 3+ person conversation that way.

edit: and Maureen's right - there doesn't seem to be any way to add people to an existing IM window..

Calling cards are great for this.

Ctrl-click to select the calling card for each friend you want in the conference IM. Right click and start the session. If you want to add someone to an existing session, drag and drop their calling card on the session window.

I have not tried dropping a calling card to an existing one to one IM session so I don't know if that will work or not.
