Really, I've never ever ever had crashing issues like I have tonight. It all started this weekend. I noticed that if I right clicked an object (like a piece of a prim outfit leftover that I wanted to take off) that I would immediately crash upon right clicking. I also noticed that my inventory was loading slowly, so I attributed it to the fact that perhaps the object that I was clicking to remove wasn't completely loaded into inventory, thus the crash.

But this continued all weekend. I have been crashing while I'm building, changing, tping...it seems that it all starts with a right click.

Tonight I purchased some sculpted, heavily scripted eddies for my lil island and if I right click to copy them around, I'm pewfed.....Yesterday I took a class and crashed 3 times before it was done. I've never been a crasher, ever.

It wasn't this way when I first upgraded to the new RC viewer. It seems to have just "developed". Can anyone enlighten me?

Though crashing is not the usual result but sometimes you just need to reset your modem/router. Unplug both (if you have a router too) from the electrical source and leave them off of about 5 minutes...............plug back in and wait for the led lights to settle down then try logging back in. Shutting down the computer saves you having to reestablish your connection sometimes..........you maybe you should shut down first.

Done that Peggy :o( I do that regularly actually. Usually two to three times a week.

I don't really understand Mono. Is that a switch they flipped this weekend? Have I set a preference that has screwed me royally?

mono was released with the 1.24 server code awhile back, tho the only way to actually access mono is with the RC

if you changed any settings in the weekend, best to undo those :)

Ok I think I may have fixed it. I had checkd Bump Mapping and Shiny and I don't think that's a good thing for my lil chipset. I was able to copy and move waves without crashing this time.

Okay, this is going to seem really stupid but someone a while back had clicking problems that the "normal" fixes did not fix. On a whim I tossed out a dying mouse as the problem.........but it turned out the a corrupted mouse driver instead. Might be something to check into. :)

Not really a wild guess, but many times the simplest things cause the most annoying problems.

Hmm.....that might be a good call! I've just updated my graphics *chipset* driver and I was amazed at the speed that everything loaded around me. So far everything is alright but I was fooled into thinking all was good last night too. I think I'll go and have a see if there's any drivers for the mousaroo.

Thank you Peggy!

ETA: You might be on to something Peggy. When I start up SL, I always close my background task, one of them being my synaptics pointer thingy which I always attributed to have something to do with my touchpad on the laptop. On further inspection, I realize that it's to do with my mouse that I have plugged in. We shall see what happens when I don't close that task...
