Tier Payment Problem

I sold off all of my land in early September. LL incorrectly states in my account information that I owe $8.00 to them for tier on Friday Oct. 12th. I sold off all of my land before Sep. 12th. Its only 8 dollars but I really don't owe it.

I filled out a support ticket last week. So far, I have heard NOTHING from LL about it. I don't have the time to sit on the phone either on hold or hitting re-dial repeatedly to get ahold of someone.

Any suggestions on how I get this problem fixed? I am asuming now that they will rip me off for the 8 dollars in October and probably for November. Do they ever refund money taken in error?

Of course, I can lower my membership to basic in November and then I am not paying them anything!

Any ideas?

How early in September? If you still owned land on or about 9/12, you do owe them tier...they charge for your maximum holdings from the prior month.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Have you donated any tier to a group? Go to My Account page, Land Use Fees. Make sure the 'Square Meters Owned' AND 'Square Meters Donated' is ZERO. Scroll down and set your tier level at US$0/month. If all that is done already, then yes, your only hope is to either call Billing (best choice) or contact Live Help.

Also make sure you have the circle hightlighted that says "0" on your land use fees page. The cases I have known of that have been charged for land when they did not own any for that entire month did get their money refunded.

I fell foul of this one... sold my mainland plot off in June which had been deeded to my group (me and my partner), but didn't realise I had to cancel the deed at the same time.. I did it eventually in July, but had already passed the tier date. So $75 down the drain...... at least it didn't have VAT back then lol!

Did you file a support ticket? LL will reimburse for that error.

hmmmmm. the person I know who got refunded is from Finland and probably won't be able to provide much detail as to how she got her money back. So maybe I'm wrong. But perhaps someone else with personal experience can be more helpful here...

When you lower your tier you also have to go to your account page and change settings or SL will keep charging you.
Also the new settings aren't effective until the next billing period I have learned this way.
Forgot exactly where it is but there is section to the right of the screen in your account page.
Not sure if down grade account or something else.
There gotta be someone who remembers here. Nevermind I looked
its under Land/ Land use fees.
Direct link is here https://secure-web11.secondlife.com/account/landfees.php
scroll down to bottom of page and check the new land fee amount if you're going down to 512 meters then select 512m
