Lindens make occasional appearances in this forum and at Second Citizen - but not often enough that it can be assumed that they read each thread or even read on a daily basis.

The Lindens read the forums, I don't blame them for not engaging here. I made a throw away comment to a Linden "Rough crowd in the forums", she replied "You're telling me", so they do read them.

They're individuals.

I'm sure some read this, I'm sure some read that, I'm sure some read nothing, and I'm sure some can't read.

I have been having issues activating Adobe CS3 and spent some time in their forums today. If you substitute SL for CS3 on all the angry posts, it was like being right at home. Except there were no funny posts from happy people. Just to rub salt in the wound, Adobe support lines seem to be down and their activation system is in the toilet - according to forum posts this has been ongoing for months. Frankly, if I had to choose between SL support and Adobe support I'd take SL support.

Edited to add: further investigation of the Adobe support center leads one to the Activation Center where there are various tech documents of known issues. Clicking on any of these documents results in a error message in processing the request. Sheesh. Why is it that these companies are so totally lacking in competence? /rant off

I remember reading in one of the forums somewhere that LL has basically told it's employees to avoid reading the forums because it makes them too depressed.

Imho, it should be mandatory for all of their employees to read the forums for at least 10-20 minutes a week to find out how the rest of the user community feels about the service.

Maybe then they can find out what everybody is complaining about and fix it - really fix it, not just say it's fixed when all they did was put a temporary band-aid on the problem.

That would probably be Dan.
