Dcs2 practice?

Newish to Sl and dabbling in many things. I found this sim that uses dcs2. But I feel I need to practice somewhat and learn more about its intricacies. Also I bought a shotgun and want to make sure its ok. Its Dcs2 capable but I hear rumors some makers do bad things and don't want to get banned if its "too powerful".

Does anyone know where a good noob friendly combat zone is I could learn in?

The look I am going for in these sims would require a sawed off shotgun esp with pistol grip.
I have found (Enforcer Dual/Single Mossbergs). Anyone know if these are not going to get me into trouble? If they are good enough I'm happy.

I don't know of any noob friendly places but DCS have their own sim called DCS Island, there's a little arena there and lots of information about other places that run DCS, so you might find something there.

If you make a character in one sim and then play in another does it erase? Or will the proper one load up?
