their behavior aside... :0 opinions/experience upon having/parcelling off a small 'rezup' area adjacent to their shopping area? at least, for 'high-target' areas... esp above what i hear is the effective limit of 50-100 meters :\...

hmm, while they werent the most super customers, I myself really like to be able to rezz something if i buy it even if its over in a tiny corner. (i know you can wear it and drag it out sometimes but i find that risky at times)

myself, I would have left them go. word of mouth sells now more than ever. and in some cases bad PR isnt a good thing.

Its your shop, you run it as you see fit. Dont lose sleep over it.

I agree with ciera and it is your shop so do as you please. I also feel in a place thats got clothing, or a place that has skins that are boxed I'd like to try them on there. Especially if they have demos.

May be something to think about in the future. But really people don't have to comment all the time to a business if they personally think its not a good policy.

I had my regions changed to payment info needed and adult verified needed, and I got a few people just ranting to me about it. I even got one lady who sent another employee of mine a rude notecard. She stated we just lost ratings in her view and she would be telling everyone not to shop there anymore. Hehe. I had to politely comment to her and say it was due to linden labs changing their policy and enforcing it across the grid. And then told her she can still shop by going to xstreetsl to purchase, and gave her a variety of other options. I was quite polite about the whole thing.

Lesson I learned? Doesn't matter what you do you can't please everyone. And that is something that doesn't bother me.

But... ... It's not as if they have to flit off somewhere to rez the box. Just wear it and drag the stuff into a fresh Inventory folder themselves.

I will say that buy-boxes that sell contents, or pay-vendors that llGiveInventoryList() are probably more convenient for use in no-rez stores than are boxes that sell copies or vendors that llGiveInventory(). But even so, the "wear box, drag contents" thing isn't rocket science.

We need a language-neutral image to illustrate the process.

I definitely appreciate being able to rez objects if a store only sells boxed itens. Having a corner dedicated to this is not a bad idea. Also, not everyone will be aware they can attache the box and drag the item to inventory from the edit tab. But, do the demos have to be boxed up at all?

Also, had they just been able to leave on their own accord, then they probably would have found another place and forgot about yours. Being booted like that however might cause them to hold a grudge and try to give you grief. Just a thought.

When I go to a store that sells boxed items and maintains no-rez land, I get the message "Buy your one thing and go away!" (>_<

Because, really, that's all I can do. Without being able to unpack and organize right away, I find myself having to TP home or to a sandbox to manage the box before I can sort my inventory. It becomes just enough hassle for me to ever reconsider going back to that store. (=_=)

That said... My store is build allowed with a 120 minute autoreturn. In a way, I like to see what people do with it. I only have 5 prims left most of the time, anyway. (^_^)y

I'm not that extreme, but you gotta be someone exceptional (like, say, Silent Sparrow) if I'm going to go back there. Of course guys can't afford to be as picky, we don't have quite as great a variety of products available.

It sounds like your customers had a perfectly valid complaint.

You don't need to charge 1L for demos anymore (unless you are trying to make money from it). I would suggest you make them free like most sensible vendors.

Also, your demo button should give the customer a folder containing the demo so they don't need to rez a box. No need to create a special rez zone.

This is how the vast majority of vendor demos work nowadays. You are perfectly entitled to do it your way, but be prepared to hear complaints.

I'd also say, you could have found a way to accomodate your customers. Instead, you reacted to their complain by berating and ejecting them.

Two thumbs down to your customer service.

Meh - a good half of the stores I buy stuff in are set to no-rez. I never wear anything immediately anyway. I unpack and sort my recent items at home or elsewhere once or twice a day usually and don't have a real problem with it.
