I'm wondering if anyone can help with a sound Issue... I have sound on my laptop and with other programs but none in sl (No music or sounds from Gestures or Media). I've uninstalled and reinstalled SL and still have no sound - I've installed the Snowglobe viewer and have sound but I'd prefer to use the original but would like it to have sound. If anyone has any ideas I'd appriciate any help (and yes I've checked preferences, and I'm not muted and all volumes are up) Please and Thankyou Sara

Was it something I said?

The fact that for Sarafinafire it works in Snowglobe suggests it may be a setting gone haywire. May be worth trying to delete or hide the file "settings.xml" from the user_settings folder. Where that folder lives depends on the operating system. On Linux, it's ~/.secondlife/user_settings. On XP it's C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\SecondLife\user_settings.
I've no idea what setting could be the problem, but that's one file that is different between Snowglobe and the standard release, and it will be rebuilt with default settings if the viewer can't find it when it starts up.

I've actually wiped my settings and reinstalled and older version and the updated version and still no sound - I've had everyone I can think of try and help and still no result. It's the oddest thing!! I'm stumped.
